Maoists blast panchayat building

Hyderabad : Naxalites of the CPI(Maoist) blasted the gram panchayat building in the newly-constructed model housing colony for the Polavaram project-displaced at Rallapudi in Velerpadu mandal, Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
The building, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh a few months ago, collapsed completely. triggered the blast after forcing a group of masons sleeping in the building to shift to a house under construction.
The colony was yet to be occupied by beneficiaries and hence, there were no casualties. The Aswaraopet area committee of the CPI(Maoist) owned up the blast and left a note on the spot opposing the construction of the Polavaram project. Andra cafe
