LATEHAR (JHARKHAND): Maoists on Monday called a Jharkhand bandh on August one and torchlight rallies for a week from Tuesday over arrest of three of its cadres. The three cadres — Madan, Naveen and Kiran — were arrested in Patna by the Bihar police on July 29, but the police were yet to confirm it, a self-styled spokesman of the maoist's Jharkhand-Bihar-Uttar Pradesh Regional Committee, Pravirji, said in a statement here.
Demanding immediate confirmation of the arrests, the proscribed outfit in the release said that it feared their 'harassment' at the hands of the police. Essential services would be kept out of the purview of the bandh, which has been called in Jharkhand only, it added.
