UP: Anti-naxal training centre proposed

Varanasi, July 21: A senior police official has recommended setting up of an anti-naxal training centre in Mirzapur district so that the policemen could be trained to cope with naxalite insurgency, police sources said.
According to the sources, the zonal Inspector General of Police (IGP), Varanasi range, Kashmir Singh, has forwarded a proposal to the state government for setting up the anti-naxal training centre at Badgawan.
Policemen deployed to tackle the naxal menace would be given special training to deal with the insurgents at the proposed training centre, the sources added.
