Two Maoists Arrested In Orissa

Wednesday 25th of July 2007 Two hardcore Maoist guerrillas were Wednesday arrested from Orissa's southern district of Malkangiri, police said.

The rebels, who were allegedly involved in over a hundred crimes in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, were identified as Sriramulu alias Srinivas, 38, and Sukel Madivi alias Manoj, 28.

They were arrested from the Tekguda forest under Kalimela police station, some 700 km from here, district police chief Satish Gojbaya said.

The Andhra Pradesh police had announced a Rs.1 million reward to capture Srinivas while Manoj was wanted by the police of his home state Chhattisgarh for his long list of crimes.
